Illusionist Set
The least demanding format on your venue and the easiest to add to a dinner. Two performers work the tables close up for the first two hours, then one staged set of 25 minutes holds the whole room, and the evening goes back to conversation afterwards.
What is in the package
- two close-up performers working the tables for 2 hours
- one staged set of 25 minutes with its own props and sound cues
- a host who introduces the set and closes the evening
- a performance area 4 x 3 m with 6 light points and a 3 m backdrop
- sound: 2 x 500 W, 2 radio microphones, cue playback by our technician
- a photo point with a 2.4 m frame and 10 props
What the venue needs to have
- a hall of at least 120 m2 with seated tables
- a clear area of 12 m2 for the staged set
- one 16 A circuit
- the ability to dim the house lighting for the staged set
Adaptable without changing the price: How long the close-up block runs, the content of the staged set, whether the set happens before or after dinner service.
Circus Ring
Circus craft in a hall, with no animals and nothing above head height that is not rigged by our own technician. Four artists work the room and the ring, and three skill points let guests try juggling, balance and plate spinning badly in public.
What is in the package
- four artists for 4 hours: two in the ring, two working the room
- a ring 6 m across, marked with a mat and 8 posts
- two staged sets of 20 minutes each, announced by a ringmaster host
- three skill points with equipment and a coach at each: juggling, balance board, plate spinning
- scenography: 6 striped panels 3 m high, 2 ticket-booth frames, 40 m of bunting
- 14 LED points with two follow spots on the ring
- a photo point with a ringmaster frame and 14 props
What the venue needs to have
- a hall of at least 200 m2, ceiling from 3.5 m
- a clear ring area of 40 m2 with no fittings overhead
- two 16 A circuits, one for the follow spots
- a lockable side room for the artists
Adaptable without changing the price: Which disciplines appear in the sets, how many skill points run, the length of the staged sets, the scenography colour.
Wonderland Table
An Alice-in-Wonderland room for an adult group: one long dressed table, oversized props, a tea ceremony run as a piece of theatre and three games with rules that change halfway through on purpose.
What is in the package
- a dressed table run of 12 m: 80 mismatched pieces, 24 candlesticks, 6 oversized props
- two actors in character for 4 hours and a host who keeps the absurd structure moving
- a tea ceremony block with service pieces for 80 guests, your caterer provides the tea
- three games with printed rule cards and their own props
- scenography: a 3 x 2.4 m door wall, 8 hanging clocks, 30 m of trim
- 12 warm LED points and 20 battery candles
- a photo point at the door wall with 12 props
What the venue needs to have
- a hall of at least 140 m2 with a 14 m wall for the table run
- tables of 1.8 m from the venue, six of them, or hired by us
- one 16 A circuit
- permission to hang light props from a free-standing frame
Adaptable without changing the price: The length of the table run, which games run, how theatrical the tea block is, the prop scale.
Fantasy Realm
A built fantasy world rather than a few props on a table. Banners and timber, a throne point for photographs, four guild stations with their own crafts, and a quest that collects the whole room into one ending.
What is in the package
- scenography: 8 banners 3 m high, 2 timber arches, a throne point 2 x 2 m, 60 m of rope trim
- four guild stations with props and a crew member each: forge, herbalist, scribe, archery-style skill game with soft bows
- a quest written for the room, with a map, 10 tokens and a final gathering
- two actors in character and a host for 5 hours
- a dressing point with 50 items: cloaks, circlets, belts
- 16 LED points in amber and green, 2 haze effects if permitted
- a photo point at the throne with 12 props
What the venue needs to have
- a hall of at least 180 m2, ceiling from 3 m for the banners
- two 16 A circuits
- a clear 8 m lane for the skill game
- permission for free-standing timber structures
Adaptable without changing the price: Which guilds run, the length of the quest, how much dressing is offered, whether the skill game is scored.
How these evenings run
The shape of a Curtain Call programme.
A host runs the structure and the crew runs the activities. Whichever format you choose from this category, the four stages below are the same.
-
The performers work the arrival hour close up, table by table, with no stage and no microphone.
-
One staged set of 20-25 minutes happens mid-evening, announced by the host.
-
Between sets, guests use the photo point and the dressing props.
-
The final set closes the programme, and the crew begins pack-down only after the last guest has left the room.
Venue
What a venue needs for this category.
Individual formats add their own requirements, listed with each one above. These four apply across Curtain Call.
- a hall of at least 150 m2, ceiling from 3.2 m for tall props
- a performance area of 5 x 4 m kept clear of tables
- two 16 A circuits, one dedicated to the performance area
- a lockable side room for performers and props
Set-up takes up to 3 hours before the event, pack-down 1-2 hours after. Neither counts towards the programme hours.
Who these programmes are for
Adult guests, on site, nothing to win.
Every programme in this category is written and run for adult guests, in a venue you choose. Scoring exists in some formats; the prize is a printed certificate and the host reading out the result. There are no stakes, no cash prizes and nothing exchangeable for money, goods or vouchers. Where a programme includes casino-style tables, participation in those activities is for guests aged 20+ and the chips are props that are never sold or topped up.
Questions
Questions about Curtain Call.
Do the performers need a stage?
Only a clear area. Illusionist Set needs 12 m2, Circus Ring needs a 40 m2 ring with nothing overhead. No format in this category requires a built stage unless you also want one for speeches.
How long do guests sit and watch?
Not long. Staged sets run 20 to 25 minutes and the rest of the programme alternates between watching and doing, so nobody is a spectator for five hours.
Is any of it dangerous?
Nothing is rigged above head height except by our own technician, there are no animals in any programme, and open flame is not used. The guest skill points use soft and low-risk equipment with a coach at each one.
Ask about a date in Curtain Call.
An enquiry does not reserve a date. We check whether we are free, agree the package and send it to you in writing.
